No More Skirts!!

As most of you know, Catherine is obsessed with clothes, and she especially loves skirts. When asked how preschool went or what she did during the day, her initial response is, "I wore ...." She then goes into detail about every bit of clothing. When we go to the store she'll look at something and say, "this would look good with my pink skirt." Clothes are really all she cares about. They're far more important than any toy. Well, since so many people know this she receives gifts of skirts quite often, and she has quite a collection. The problem is this: since James was born, she has been wetting her pants, several times a day. This is coming from a girl who was potty trained in May and hadn't had an accident for two months. It's really wierd, because she seems to love him so much and has adjusted to him so well, but I know these things happen. This said, I have been trying for weeks to get her to stop, but nothing is working. Yesterday I had finally had enough. I made a new potty chart that will take roughly 30 days to complete. I took away all her skirts and told her that to get them back she has to fill up the potty chart with stickers. I also told her that if she earns her skirts back I will also buy a new one. Since this, she hasn't had a single accident. My question is: is this too mean? If not this, what else can I do?

No way, not mean at all. You've found her weak spot and should definitely use it to your advantage. She won't be motivated unless it's somthing she really cares about. Hope it works!

I am going to attempt to potty train during my track break in November. He has been ready for some time, but I just haven't had time. I am hoping if I am successful, that the same thing doesn't happen to me when the baby arrives in February.
Our ward just got split. I think the new name is Laurel Hills. We live just a few streets down from Ryan and Jenna. There are so many people from high school that live in this area.

That is so cute she loves Skirts. Don't worry about it you're not mean. She already knows what she is doing you are just helping her to remember.
