Today was Mitchell's sixth birthday. I can't believe he is growing so fast. He is still obsessed with Star Wars and luckily he really made out today. Catherine surprised him with a Lego Star Wars shirt to wear to school and grandmas, grandpas and Aunt Natalie spoiled him with lots of other fun things. He was pretty happy with his day. A couple of weeks ago I asked him what kind of cake he wanted (I was thinking on the lines of chocolate or vanilla). He said he wanted the scene in Star Wars where Luke crashes into the planet Dagobah and finds Yoda and talks to the ghost Obi-Wan. Can you get more specific than that? After doing a little research and not finding anything that I could make to look like that I tried to talk him into something else. He said, "Mom, it's my birthday. I get to pick the cake. When it's your birthday you can pick whatever cake you want." What do you say to that? So, I gave up thinking I would make it myself and went to Safeway. I found a cake in their book that I could adapt to the Dagobah scene. They thought I was a little weird when I explained to them what I wanted, but it turned out ok, and Mitchell was very pleased, which is really all that matters anyway.
