We got an e-mail from Pottery Barn Kids saying they would have Star Wars characters in their Walnut Creek store to launch their new line of products. We took the kids over to see them. They were pretty excited. While waiting to get in Catherine said to me, "are there real characters in there?" I said, "I think so." She responded, "Oh no, I hope Darth Vader doesn't kill me." It was too cute because she was totally serious. Anyway, somehow we escaped the clutches of Darth Vader and visited the little koi pond in the back, which the kids always want to see. Afterward, we did a little shopping and finished up with lunch at Boudin's, a family favorite. It was a fun day to spend as a little pre-birthday day for John.
