Wish List

I must say that the advertising industry really starts working overtime as soon as school starts. They start pushing Christmas presents long before Halloween. This year is no different, except that I have a four year old who hangs onto every word. Yes, we try and limit his exposure to TV and with tivo, he really watches only a few commercials. This being said, he knows exactly what he wants for Christmas, and I mean exactly. Today he started telling me about a lot of cool toys, some of which I'm not sure exist. But anyway, I suggested that we make a list for Santa. I had no idea that this many toys could pop out of his mouth so readily, with no hesitation. Here it is:

-Raphael
-Luke in the snow
-Luke on a speeder in the snow
-Obi-wan in a storm trooper suit, helmet and carrying two guns (he's very specific)
-Anniken with drawings on his body and no shirt on (tattoo's????)
-Hans Solo in carbonite
-Hans Solo out of carbonite
-Princess Leia wearing a helmet
-Legos with Star Wars guys
-Star Wars spaceship transformer Darth Maul's ship
-Star Wars spaceship transformer Darth Vader's ship
-Pirates and the Carribee Ship (these are all direct quotes)
-Leonardo's toy swords, big ones
-Raphael Night Watcher

Again, I'm not entirely sure which of these toys exist and which are things he's decided must be out there, but you have to be impressed at the skill in which he could spout these out so effortlessly, and in only a few seconds time. It definitely takes me back to all those hours I spent pouring ofer the Sears book circling all of the things I wanted Santa to bring me. Anyway, at least Christmas is finally fun again. Those few years in college and first few years of marriage without kids around to enjoy were just not the same. I love to see the excitement that the Christmas season brings into our home: the lights, the decorations, the scripture stories, the family togetherness, and even the toys I guess.

Oh how I can relate! What's the deal with the Christmas aisle being one over from the Halloween costumes?
