On Saturday we spent most the day in Columbia. It is a tiny gold rush town which the kids liked to call "the cowboy town." Main street was completely cut off to all traffic, other than horse drawn carriages. We went through the museum, panned for gold, went to the ice cream shop, had yummy sarsparillas, dipped candles, and ate at the quaint Jenny Lind restaurant. It was a really cool place. Everyone on main street was in period costumes and that kind of added to the fun.
