On Halloween, we drove down to so cal. We stayed at the Marriott resort in Newport Beach for a week. It was so beautiful. The kids weren't so bummed about missing trick-or-treating when they saw the beach. We didn't tell them anything, just that we were going to the beach for the week. We pulled them out of school and brought TONS of independent study work with us to complete. On Monday, we took them out for a drive and ended up in Legoland. They were shocked, and so excited. they had no idea we were even anywhere close, so it was never a thought. We had a great day there. The kids loved it. In fact, to our surprise, they said they liked it better than Disneyland.
